Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire has lost his brother suddenly. Mike Gardenhire died at the age of 55 in his home in Oklahoma. The cause of death was not announced and funeral arrangements have not been made.
When the Twins were playing the Texas Rangers recently, Mike Gardenhire came to visit with is brother, chatting with coaches and players.
Ron Gardenhire has left the team to be with his family in Oklahoma. He will miss this week-end’s three game series against the Detroit Tigers. It is unclear when he will be returning to the team.
I extend my deepest sympathies to Ron on the sad and premature death of his brother.
