Lance Berkman Named NL Player of the Week

This week’s NL Player of the Week is Lance Berkman, first baseman for the Houston Astros.  He got 10 hits in 22 at-bats last week, for a .455 batting average, hitting four homeruns and batting in 12 runs.  The switch hitter saw his first Major League action in 1999 and has played in four All-Star games since then.  He had a great 2006 season, with a .315 batting average, 45 home runs and 136 RBIs.  Read his Wikipedia profile and his Player File on the Astros’ official site.  Congrats to Berkman.
